Information

I was approached by psychology lecturer Dr. Andrea Piovesan to help create a digital platform for his research into the exploration of fonts.

His studies explored how the design characteristics of different typefaces are perceived through a range of semantic qualities.

The design was influenced by the data points collected to inform the outcome of the research.

For the name, we landed on the Italian word ‘Tipo’ (tee-po), directly translating to typography whilst also referring to the different qualities gathered in the research. It’s also a nod to Dr. Piovesan’s heritage and extended audience of English and Italian.
